The Animals in Haiti

Aftermath o

Not only do the people of Haiti need our support, but the animals will need our help as well. The WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) and the IFAW (the International Fund for Animal Welfare) have created an organization called ARCH (the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti) to help the animal victims of this disaster. Other animal welfare organizations have also joined this group to do what they can for the animals in Haiti.

You can visit the WSPA or the IFAW for further information on what is being done to help the animals in Haiti.

World Premiere of Terriens in Montreal

When: Friday, January 8, 7 p.m.
Where: UQAM, room J-M400, "marie-gerin-lajoie," 405 St. Catherine E., Montreal (map)

The NHL's Montreal Canadiens player Georges Laraque and film director Shaun Monson will be at the screening of Terriens (the French-language version of the award-winning film Earthlings.) Larraque narrates the documentary that made him aware of the cruelty towards animals for human consumption.

Earthlings is considered by many to be the definitive animal rights film. In 1999, writer/producer/director Shaun Monson began work on a series of public service announcements about spaying and neutering animals. The footage he shot at animal shelters around Los Angeles affected him so profoundly that the project soon evolved into a full-length documentary about society's treatment of animals.

You can RSVP to the event on Facebook here!
