Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale at Karmavore

Goodies Galore! Vegan Bake Sale for the Kitties!

Karmavore is very excited to be participating in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale! In its third year, the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale is growing bringing a greater awareness about vegan foods and living cruelty-free. Each bake sale raises much needed funds to charities of the bake sale seller's choice. In addition, we will have a raffle with all kinds of prizes up for grabs!

All of the proceeds from Karmavore's bake sale are going to VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association).

The Karmavore bake sale will be held in our shop in New Westminster on Saturday, April 23rd from 11am - 3 pm. Karmavore the Vegan Shop is located at 610 Columbia St. in New Westminster. We are just a block west from Columbia Skytrain station, across the street from Starbucks. Parking is available on the street or behind our store in the parkade.

Wait! There's more!

On that same Saturday, we're hosting a "Meet the Artist" and Trunk Sale featuring Janna Hurtzig, creator of Astrosatchel. Janna will be at the shop as well and is offering 15% off of all Astrosatchel items!

Want to participate?

We already have a few people signed up to donate baked goodies to the sale, but we need more. If you would like to participate in our bake sale and/or volunteer your time to help out, you can sign up online, in the shop or simply contact us:

email: info@karmavore.ca

phone: 604 527 4212.

We are also seeking donations for our raffle. Do you have anything you would like to donate? Please contact us!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Vegan Organic Local Wines in Vancouver, BC

One often difficult search for vegans is finding cruelty free wine.

What's wrong with wine you say?

Well, wine is clarified, or cleared, after fermentation, and for some unnecessary and barbaric
voodoo like reason, a bizarre assortment of animal components are most often used, such as:

- edible gelatins (made from bones)
- isinglass (made from the swim bladders of fish)
- casein and potassium caseinate (milk proteins)
- animal albumin (egg albumin and dried blood powder)

Yuckety yuck yuck yuckerson!

Fortunately in BC, we have two absolutely wonderful local wine companies to choose from! (we have contacted and verified with both of these suppliers that all of the wines they produce are 100% vegan)

Lotusland Vineyards (website: lotuslandvineyards.com)

Nestled in the Fraser Valley surrounded by snow topped mountains and just 27 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, Lotusland's three and one half hectare vineyard offers not only spectacular views, but also the
perfect coastal climate for growing some of the world's finest wine grapes.

Deep Creek Wine Estate (Hainle) (website: hainle.com)

Deep Creek Wine Estate & Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery are located in the sunny Okanagan wine region of British Columbia, Canada. The winery has a strong commitment to natural chemical free viticulture and handcrafted winemaking. Our own vineyards are managed naturally chemical free. All of our growing and cellar practices are traditional according to the Huber family wine purity law of 1856. The Huber family wine purity laws which exceed Canadian and International certified Organic winemaking standards have been followed in every aspect of winegrowing and winemaking since the Huber family bought Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery in 2002. We are dedicated to producing the highest possible quality, naturally dry, fully fermented wines.
